Melocco Stone has developed and promoted more Australian stone resources than any other Australian company.

Over the last century, Melocco Stone has continued to prosper, with a focus on the continued development of the Australian stone Industry, new stone resources, and new equipment. Melocco Stone’s more recent focus has evolved to primarily supply material for urban streetscapes and large-scale paving projects.

The Melocco Story

Melocco Stone’s history began when Pietro Melocco, aged 26, arrived in Sydney in 1908. This is where the operations of Melocco commenced, with Peter’s brothers, Antonio and Galliano, joining him in Australia in 1910.

The Melocco Bros were the first tradesmen to practice the mosaic craft and introduced terrazzo to Australia, whilst carrying out some of the finest decorative stonework in private homes, theatres, and public buildings.
